Andy Pilsbury
A committed photographer who specialises in the documentary and reportage, that also has an interest in illustration and graphic design. A keen learner who is extremely dedicated in achieving the best outcome for any situation.
My recent works have included a project titled 'Scrap Metal'. This body of work is a reflection of the contemporary British metal industry in today's zeitgeist. I worked in a handful of steel fabrication factories, documenting the decline of the businesses but also the patriotic passion within the workforce. My final outcome was 140 page book, forming a tribute to the industry and the craftsmen.
My latest project was titled 'Mercia' which was directed more towards landscape photography with a morbid twist. Inspired by Joel Sternfelds body of work 'On This Site', I visited 25 locations in Britain where acts of extreme violence or tragedy had taken place, exploring often surprisingly ordinary and familiar places around the Midlands that have been tarnished by these incidents.
I like to create work which inspires, interests and which demonstrates a clear understanding of communication.
