Jaskinder Sehra
I am a Graphic Communicator specializing in Editorial design; interested in typography and layout. I enjoy looking into the finer details, managing easy readability, hierarchy and textures within body copy. I also enjoy illustration. The grid system is a Godsend especially to solve more complicated design problems. Tone of voice is also important in my design cycle and I've recently got into copywriting.
I've previous experience working with industry - I designed invites, feedback forms and tickets for 7inch Cinema's Flatpack Festival. Based in Birmingham they organize a film festival every year that takes place in a number of destinations including The Electric. I've also been highly commended by Pearsons for my design proposal.
My recent work includes the BCU Freshrs Bible booklet which is aimed at creative students, it's purpose is to inform freshers on what to expect and where to go. The main focus was on the theme and tone of voice, having that as a foundation I was able to design a consistent visual flow throughout the publication.
Taking the initiative to self-learning, I understand more about design and have taken steps in becoming a specialist in my chosen area. In turn I've become a better designer and believe design is about finding solutions.
